Arunodoi Scheme 2020- Announces By Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Assam Govt: On 12th August, Assam Finance and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the implementation of the ‘Arunodoi’ scheme during a press conference.

He stated that ‘Arunodoi’ will be implemented from October 2, 2020 as an umbrella scheme for all other government schemes for the next 5 years.

The Assam government will be spending Rs. 210 crore monthly for the scheme.

A total of Rs 2,80,000 has been earmarked for the Arunodoi scheme in this year’s budget. It is estimated to benefit 17 lakh families of the state.

Sarma stated that in an aim to empower women economically, the beneficiaries of the scheme will be a woman member of each family.

“To ensure proper and complete use of the availed amount, the money will be credited to the bank account of a woman family member,” he said.

Further, the respective families will be allowed to decide on the usage of the given amount as per requirement.

The amount dispersed per month to the families will be varied as per necessity.

From October 2 onwards each beneficiary’s account will be credited with Rs 830 per month. However, the additional amount might be added on occasions like admissions to educational institutions, puja, bihu, etc.

Further, annual increment might be considered depending on the budget, added minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The minister also said that under the “Orunodoi” scheme, priority would be given to households with widows, divorced, unmarried or separated women, and disabled persons.

To avail the benefits of the scheme, the beneficiary should be a permanent resident of Assam and their composite household income should be less than Rs two lakh per annum, Sarma added.

The main objective of the Arunodoi (Orunodoi) Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the underprivileged / poor families of the state and to improve their lives by providing adequate income. The state government has collected Rs. 4,000 / -. 260 crore for new projects.

The scheme has been officially announced by the state government, but the scheme will be launched only on October 2, 2020.

Arunodoi Scheme Application Forms

There is no announcement / notification from the government about the application form or procedure. It will be updated as soon as any information about offline or online application form for Arunodaya scheme is received.

Beneficiaries of Arunodoi Scheme

As per the Assam government, women will be the beneficiaries of the scheme who will receive the financial benefit of Rs. 830 per month under the scheme. Since, women are the primary caretakers of the family, they have been chosen to be the scheme beneficiaries.

Selection of Beneficiaries

Selection of beneficiaries under the Orunodoi scheme will be started from 17th August 2020. The mount will be transferred to the beneficiaries bank accounts on the 1st of every month.

The transfer of funds will be done through the Direct Benefit Transfer mode to the bank accounts of nominee women beneficiary of the family.

Arunodoi scheme will cover all the state resident families whether they are covered under NFSA or not. During the selection of beneficiaries of the Arunodoi scheme, priority will be given to especially abled nominated female, widowed/divorced/unmarried female/separate female, specially-abled household member.

In order to take the benefits of Arunodoi scheme, the applicants must fulfill the following basic eligibility criteria for the scheme

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam and presently residing in the state.
• Combined annual household income should not exceed Rs. 2 Lakh per year.
