Assam Government will fill 12,000 vacancies by September 22: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that the state government will complete the recruitment process for 12,000 posts by September 22.

He said that appointment letters would be given to 12,000 new recruits in various departments of the government at a function on September 22.

Sarma said, “In our endeavor to complete the recruitment for one lakh jobs at the earliest, it is happy to inform that today we have decided to complete the recruitment of 12,000 posts.”

These 12,000 posts include 5,200 constables and sub-inspectors in the home department and 256 assistant engineers in the public works department (PWD).

Other vacancies were in Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Higher Education Department and Health Department among others.

“The addition of 12,000 other employees in the service of the state government will help in carrying out the day-to-day activities in a more smooth manner,” he said.

In May, 30,000 vacancies were filled and with these new recruitments, the Assam government will hire a total of 42,000 people in less than six months.

In this regard, the government will organize an official function which will be held at the Veterinary College Sports Ground, Khanapara where this recruitment will be completed.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that 12,000 vacancies will be completed on September 22, taking the total recruitment to 42,000. The decision for the same was taken during a meeting chaired by Sarma in which senior officials were also present. “In our concerted effort to complete one lakh jobs at the earliest, it is happy to state that today we have decided to complete the recruitment of 12,000 posts on 22nd September, 2022. In this regard, the government will organize an official function which will be held at the Veterinary College Sports Ground, Khanapara where this recruitment will be completed.

12,000 job aspirants selected for appointments through various examinations will be formally appointed to various government services.

In May this year, after the BJP-led Assam government had promised 1 lakh jobs to the youth, the Assam CM had given appointment letters to 23,000 youth in 11 departments of the state.

Sarma handed over appointment letters to 23,000 people who will be recruited in the Home, Health, Education, Social Welfare, Water Resources and Environment and Forest departments.

The Chief Minister made the announcement regarding the Assam Government job recruitment on his official social media handle.

“We have already started to fulfill our promise of providing one lakh jobs in the government. The recruitment process for various posts is in various stages. Firstly, we will send 23000 to the Home, Health and Education departments on 14 May 22 Will distribute appointment letters,” he tweeted.

Earlier, the government had promised to provide employment during the presentation of the Assam budget for the year 2022-23.

असम के मुख्यमंत्री हिमंत बिस्व शर्मा ने गुरुवार को कहा कि राज्य सरकार 22 सितंबर तक 12,000 पदों के लिए भर्ती प्रक्रिया पूरी कर लेगी. उन्होंने बताया कि 22 सितंबर को एक कार्यक्रम में सरकार के विभिन्न विभागों में 12 हजार लोगों को नियुक्ति पत्र दिये जायेंगे.

शर्मा ने कहा कि एक लाख नौकरियों के लिए जल्द से जल्द नियुक्ति प्रक्रिया को पूरा करने के हमारे प्रयास के तहत, यह बताते हुए खुशी हो रही है कि आज हमने 12,000 पदों पर भर्ती पूरी करने का फैसला किया है.”

इन 12,000 पदों में गृह विभाग में 5,200 कांस्टेबल और सब-इंस्पेक्टर तथा लोक निर्माण विभाग (पीडब्ल्यूडी) में 256 सहायक अभियंता शामिल हैं. अन्य भर्तियां पंचायत एवं ग्रामीण विकास विभाग, उच्च शिक्षा विभाग और स्वास्थ्य विभाग सहित अन्य विभागों में थीं. मई महीने में, 30,000 रिक्त पदों पर भर्तियां की गयी थीं.
