Inviting application for appointment of Chairperson and Members of Child Welfare Committees (CWC) and Social Workers of Juvenile Justice Boards (JJB) of Assam under JJ Act 2015. In cancellation of the previous advertisement published in daily newspapers regarding invitation of application for selection of Chairperson and Members for CWC and Social Workers /    Members for JJBs vide memo no. SCPS(G)20/ 2010/Pt1/273 dated 12/11/2015. i. The Social Worker (JJB) and Members (CWC) shall be persons who are not less than 35 years and not more than 65 years of age.

ii. Educational qualification: Preferably a Post Graduate in Social work, Education, Psychology, Psychiatry or Human Development or in the field of Law or retired Judicial officer.

iii. Experience: At least 7 (seven) years experience of working with Children in the field of Education, Health or Welfare activities.

iv. A retired college teacher, doctor or a social worker who had been involved in work concerning Children will be preferred.

v. No person shall be considered for selection as a member of the board or committee, if

a. He / She had been convicted under any law.

b. He / She had ever indulged in child abuse or employment of child labour or any other human rights violation or immoral act.

c. He / She is holding such other full time occupation that does not allow him to give necessary time and attention to the work of the board;

d. Does not fulfill the qualification and experience prescribed in the Act and rules made there under and in such a case the selection committee constituted under Rule 87 shall after due inquiry and on establishment of such fact reject his application and recommend the name of the next person from the list of names prepared for filling the vacancies.

e. Person, involved with the NGOs who runs Child Care institution (CCI) – Children Home / Adoption Agency / Open Shelter under JJ Act.

The Social Workers or Members shall be paid Rs.1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand) only per sitting as travel, sitting & conveyance allowance. Applicants shall submit application with details testimonials (with a self declaration certificate which to be collect from respective District Child Protection Officer) within 25/04/2017 during office hours.

The applications received in the respective districts will be scrutinized by District Level Scrutiny Committee (DLSC) and the panel list of shortlisted candidates from DLSC will be placed before the State Level Selection Committee (SLSC) constituted under Rule 87 of Central Model JJ Rule, 2015 for final approval. The SLSC will have the power to reject applications and any recommendations made by DLSC as and when required.
