Assam Govt. Scheme Temple Priests, Namghorias 2021- Apply Online Application: In a bid to reduce carbon emission, the Assam government on Friday decided to procure 200 electric and 100 CNG buses, adding that these buses will be pressed into service in Guwahati city.

The government has also decided to provide one-time financial assistance of ₹10000 to inter-district bus drivers and handymen who have been hit hard by Covid-induced lockdown. The government will also provide ₹15,000 to temple priests and naamghorias.

The state will also start implementing National Educational Policy from April 2022, under which high schools be upgraded to senior secondary school and junior colleges.

Finacial Assistant to Priests and Namghorias

The Assam government decided on Thursday to provide temple priests and Namghorias in the state with a one-time financial grant of Rs 15000 each.

During a cabinet meeting led by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, it was decided to provide temple priests and Namghorias of Namghors (Vaishnavite places of worship) who suffered problems during the Covid-19 pandemic with a financial grant of Rs 15000 each.

According to the sources, Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta announced the cabinet’s decision by saying that an online portal will be opened for registration, with details to be advertised later.

The Assam Migrant Workers’ Food Security Scheme, which was approved by the government will offer dry rations to migrant workers affected by Covid-19. Migrant labourers will receive rice, dal, mustard oil, and salt as part of the scheme, according to Mahanta.

The data of migrant workers available on the e-SHRAM site and other available resources will be used by district administrations to distribute dry rations, he added.

Meanwhile, the Assam Industrial Relations Rules, 2021, have been passed by the cabinet in order to protect the interests of employers and employees, pave the path for industrial prosperity and ensure industrial peace and harmony.

In addition, the number of MBBS seats reserved for tea garden communities has been increased to 24 and the number of BDS seats has been increased to three.

Meanwhile, the cabinet has promised that allotment certificates in rural regions will be converted to periodic patta within three years.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam Namghorias Scheme 2021

The Assam government decided to provide temple priests and Namghorias in the state with one-time financial grants Eligibility Criteria are given below.

1. Candidate must be citizen of Assam.

2. Age limit: Applicant should be minimum 40 years of age till 01.01.2021.

3. The applicant temple or namghar should have minimum 5 years of service as priest or namghari. The applicant must submit an experience certificate signed by the Chairman/Secretary of the management committee/executive committee of the concerned temple or namghar.

4. The temple or namghar must be completed at least 50 years.

5. The applicant’s annual income is mandatory to be less than Rs 3 lakh.

6. Central and State Government pensioners will not be able to apply under this act.
