Selection Process of Assam Police Recruitment

The Assam Police recruitment process consists of several stages, including the Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Written Test. Candidates must pass each stage to proceed to the next phase of selection.

1. Preliminary Document Verification

Before participating in the PST and PET, candidates must undergo document verification. All original documents, along with self-attested photocopies, will be thoroughly verified. Candidates whose documents are found to be incorrect or forged will be disqualified from the recruitment process and may face criminal prosecution.

2. Physical Standard Test (PST)

After document verification, candidates will proceed to the Physical Standard Test (PST). This test is non-scoring and involves measuring the candidate’s height, weight, and chest (for males). Additionally, a preliminary medical examination will be conducted by a Medical Officer to check for conditions such as knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins, vision impairments, color blindness, and physical deformities. Only those who clear the PST will be allowed to move forward to the PET.

3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) assesses the physical fitness of candidates through a race and long jump. The requirements for both male and female candidates are outlined below.
