Assam Police Recruitment Selection Process

The selection process for Assam Police Constable recruitment involves multiple stages:

1. Preliminary Document Verification

Original documents and their photocopies are verified before candidates can proceed to the Physical Standards Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Any discrepancies may lead to disqualification.

2. Physical Standards Test (PST)

PST involves measuring height, weight, chest (for males), and preliminary health checks such as vision, color blindness, and physical deformities. It carries no marks.

3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

PET includes:

• Race: 3,200m in 14 minutes (males) or 1,600m in 8 minutes (females).
• Long Jump: 335 cm for males, 244 cm for females (3 chances).
• Chin Up (Males): Minimum 4 chin-ups, with marks awarded up to 14 chin-ups.

Failure in any PET event results in elimination.

4. Written Test

The written test consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (0.5 marks each, total 50 marks) covering Elementary Arithmetic, General English, Logical Reasoning, Assam’s History/Geography/Polity/Economy, and General Awareness. There is no negative marking.

5. Oral/Viva Voce
