Eligibility Criteria of Assam Police Recruitment

Nationality: Candidates must be Indian Citizen, permanent resident of Assam. Selected candidates will have to submit Proof of Residence after publication of the final select list.

Local Language Proficiency: Candidates must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.

Education Qualification for Assam Police Recruitment 2023

Candidates must be minimum Class VIII (Safai Karmachari will be Class VI passed)  from a recognized School or Institution and maximum qualification will be HSSLC or Class XII passed from recognized Board or Council. 

Reference:- Recruitment for 458 posts of Grade IV Staff in Assam Police, 360 posts of Grade IV Staff for newly created Assam Commando Battalions, 97 posts of Grade IV Staff under DGCD & CGHG, Assam 13 posts of Cook in Fire & Emergency Services, Assam in pursuance of advertisement issued vide No. SLPRB/Rec/Grade- IV/472/2021/173 dated 31.12.2022.

In compliance of Govt. instruction issued vide No. HMA.222/2022/21 dated 03-01- 2023, the Minimum Educational Qualification for the posts of Safai Karmachari will be Class VI passed instead of Class VIII passed. The persons traditionally engaged in safai works will be given preference for recruitment to the extent of 25% of interview marks. Hence, there will be interview for the posts of Safai Karmachari for 12.5 marks out of total 50 marks allotted for the Trade Proficiency Test. Further, the posts of Safai Karmachari will be exempted from the purview of Assam SC/ST/OBC Reservation Act.

Moreover, as per clarifications of the Director of Fire & Emergency Services, Assam, Panbazar, Guwahati and in compliance of Govt. Notification No. HMB.68/2009/135 dated, 17.10.2019, there will be no reservation for women for the posts of Cook in Fire & Emergency Services, Assam.
