Assam Police SI Exam To Be Held On November 22: Written examination for the recruitment of 597 posts of Sub- Inspector (UB) of Assam Police has been re-issued for 22 November 2020. It was notified by an order issued by Assam Police recruitment board (SLPRB)  on 2 October 2020. 

The State Level Police Recruitment Board assures all applicants that the examination process will be totally transparent, where every applicant will get a fair opportunity to compete,” stated the notification.

A formal notification providing procedural details will be published in due course, it added.

Earlier Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had ordered the rescheduling of the examination before 20th November. The board members of SLPRB have also been reshuffled and Director General of Police (DGP), Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta was appointed as the new chairman.

What is the pattern of the SI (UB) Assam Police written examination?

The SI (unarmed branch) written test will be of 100 marks and will be OMR based. There will be 100 questions and each question will be of 1 (one) mark. There will be a negative marking of 0.5 mark for each wrong answer by the candidate. The paper will be divided into the following parts: Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension; Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India and; and General Knowledge.

Two physical efficiency test will also be conducted for candidates who clear the first hudle, i.e, the written examination. There will be a 1,600 metres race for male candidates and 800 metres race for female candidates.

Additionally, in long jump, males have to clear 335 cm (minimum) while females will have to clear 244 cm (minimum). 3 chances will be given to the candidates and the longest valid jump will be considered.
