Eligibility Criteria for Nijut Babu Asoni

- Residency: Must be a domicile of Assam.
- Gender: Only Male students are eligible.
- Income Limit: The annual family income must be less than ₹4.00 Lakh.
- Enrollment: Must be enrolled as a regular student in UG 1st Year or PG 1st Year in a Government or Provincialised Institution in Assam.
- Exclusion: Students in Private institutions or Self-financed courses are NOT eligible.
- Marital Status: Only unmarried students are eligible.
- Other Exclusions:
- Students who opted for the Banikanta Kakati Merit Award (Scooter Scheme) are not eligible.
- PG students availing the CM’s Jibon Prerana Scheme are not eligible.
- Conduct: Beneficiaries must maintain discipline, regular attendance, and good academic conduct. Violation of rules (ragging, cheating) will lead to withdrawal of benefits.

- Data Submission: Students must ensure that the data provided by them to their respective Colleges/Universities is correct and complete.
- Verification by Institute: The Registrars/Principals of the institutions will collect, verify the student’s data, and submit the correct data for auto-verification in the SAMARTH Portal.
- Nodal Teachers: Every Head of the Institute will notify One or Two Nodal Teachers specifically to implement the Mukhya Mantri Nijut Babu Asoni (MMNBA) in their institution.
- Opt-Out Option: Guardians have the choice to decide whether their sons will avail of the benefits under this scheme. If a student opts out, the Head of the Institution must intimate the authorities.
- Drop Outs: If a beneficiary student drops out, the institution must inform the authorities immediately to stop the benefit.

- Income Proof: A valid Income Certificate from the competent authority OR the Ration Card of the parents.
