Border Security Force (BSF) Recruitment 2016-17: Applications are invited from male/female Indian citizens for appointments on combatised posts of Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer) and Head Constable(Ministerial) in Border Security Force, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India in the pay scale(Pre-Revised) as mentioned against each post plus DA and other allowance as admissible to the member of the Force from time to time as well as accommodation, uniform, LTC and medical facilities etc. The posts are temporary but likely to become permanent.

Pay: Rs.5200 – 20200 with grade pay Rs.2800/- in Pay Band-1. ( Pre-Revised)

Qualification: Shorthand speed @ 80 words per minute in English OR in Hindi for 10 minutes. Transcription of dictation in English in 50 minutes on computer OR transcription of dictation in Hindi in 65 minutes on computer.

Pay: Rs.5200 – 20200 with grade pay Rs.2400/- in Pay Band-1. ( Pre-Revised)

Qualification: Typing with minimum speed of 35 words per minute in English OR 30 words per minute in Hindi corresponding to 10500 KDPH in English/9000 KDPH in Hindi with average of 5 key depressions for each word on computer. Time-10 minutes.

AGE LIMIT FOR ASI(STENO) AND HC(MIN): Between 18 to 25 years as on 01/01/2017. The upper age limit is relaxable for the candidates belonging to SC and ST and Govt Servant for the post of ASI(Steno) and any Govt servant for the post of HC(Min) as per existing instructions issued from Government of India from time to time.

The selection shall be held in two phases as under:-

(a) First Phase

(i) Written Examination

(b) Second Phase:- Number of candidates qualified in written examination will be restricted maximum ten times of number of vacancies or qualified candidates for the post of HC(Min) and thirty time number of vacancies for the post of ASI(Steno) or qualified candidates whichever is less for 2nd phase examination.

(i) Physical Measurement Test (PST)

(ii) Shorthand Speed Test (only for ASI/Steno)

(iii) Typing Speed Test (only for HC/Min)

(iv) Documentation (Checking of Documents)

(v) Medical Examination

The medical examination may be conducted as per revised uniform guidelines which has been circulated by Addl DG (Medical) CAPF vide their UO No V-18011 /24/ ADG (Med) /WP-RKV/ 2015-1113 dated 26.05.2015 and subsequent amendment thereof.

(a) Eye sight – The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other eye without correction, that is, without wearing of glasses/lenses or Lasik surgery.

(b) Candidates must not have Knock knee, Flat Foot, Squint in eyes, Varicose vein and they should possess colour vision between Colour Perception -1 to III. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

(c) Tattoo:- Candidates having permanent tattoo on any part of the body will be debarred for recruitment in CAPFs.
