Eligibility Requirements

According to Clause 7.3 of the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for the Appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges, as well as Measures for the Maintenance of Standards of Higher Education 2018 (vide No. F.1-2/2017 (EC/PS)), the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• Distinguished academician status.
• A minimum of ten years of experience as a Professor in a University.
• Alternatively, ten years’ experience in a reputed research and/or academic administrative organization, substantiated by a proven track record of academic leadership.

Compensation Package

The Vice Chancellor’s position comes with a competitive compensation package, including:

• Fixed monthly pay of Rs 2,10,000/-
• Special allowance of Rs. 11,250/-
• Additional standard allowances in accordance with Vishwavidyalaya/Government of Assam rules.

Age Criteria
