Western Chef (Specializing in Biryani / Tandoor – CDP or DCDP Level): 1 Position

Salary
Head Chef/Executive Chef – 45,000 – 55,000 (As per qualification and experience)
Other Chef – 20,000 to 25,000 (As per qualification and experience)
Key Responsibilities
1. Menu Planning & Preparation
- Craft authentic Indian dishes with a focus on consistent taste, presentation, and quality.
- Innovate and update the menu to reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Specialize in Indian regional cuisines, including North Indian, South Indian, Mughlai, and Continental fusion.
2. Kitchen Management
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment while ensuring proper equipment sanitation.
- Optimize kitchen resources to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
3. Quality Control
- Monitor food preparation and presentation, ensuring high standards are met.
- Conduct regular tasting sessions to maintain consistent flavors and quality.
4. Health & Safety Compliance
- Adhere to hygiene and safety regulations in food handling and preparation.
- Train kitchen staff to follow safety protocols, maintaining a secure working environment.
5. Training & Development
- Provide training on food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants, enhancing their skills.
6. Inventory & Stock Control
- Manage inventory and ensure timely procurement of supplies.
- Inspect ingredients to maintain freshness and quality standards.
7. Guest Interaction
- Occasionally engage with guests to gather feedback on food quality.
- Collaborate on designing special menus for events and private functions.
8. Cost Control & Budgeting
- Focus on cost-effective preparation of dishes while minimizing waste.
- Work closely with management to meet food cost targets.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Indian Chef in a similar role.
- Proven track record of excellence in food preparation and presentation.
Educational Background
- Culinary Arts degree or equivalent (preferred).
- Certification in food safety and hygiene (mandatory).
Essential Skills
- In-depth knowledge of Indian culinary techniques, spices, and regional flavors.
- Strong leadership skills for managing kitchen operations and teams.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and consistency.
