Eligibility Criteria for Peon Post

Candidates must satisfy the following educational and age requirements to be eligible for the recruitment:

1. Educational Qualification

  • Minimum: Candidate must have passed Class VIII (8th Standard) from a recognized school.
  • Important Note: Candidates who have passed HSSLC (12th Standard) or above are ineligible to apply. A mandatory self-declaration (provided in the notice) must be submitted along with the application.

2. Age Limit (As of 01-01-2026)

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years.
  • Maximum Age: 40 Years.
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST (P)/ST (H): 05 Years.
    • OBC/MOBC: 03 Years.

3. Citizenship

  • The applicant must be an Indian Citizen as defined under the Constitution of India.
  • Candidates must have their names registered in the Employment Exchange.

Selection Process

The selection for the post of Peon in Chirang District Judiciary will be based on a two-tier assessment:

  1. Written Test (50 Marks): The test will comprise subjects including General English, General Awareness, Mathematical Ability, Aptitude, and Assamese.
  2. Viva-Voce (20 Marks): Shortlisted candidates from the written exam will be called for a personal interview.

How to Apply for Chirang District Judiciary Recruitment

The application process is strictly offline. Follow these steps to ensure your application is accepted:

  1. Standard Form: Download the Standard Form of Application (as published in the Assam Gazette Part-IX).
  2. Required Documents: Attach self-attested photocopies of the following:
    • Educational Qualification certificates.
    • Experience certificates (if any).
    • Caste certificate (if applicable).
    • Age proof document (Birth certificate or HSLC Admit).
    • Employment Exchange Registration Card.
    • NOC from employer (if already in government service).
  3. Photographs: Attach 02 (two) recent passport-size photographs, duly signed by the candidate on the reverse side.
  4. Self-Declaration: Fill out and sign the Self-Declaration (available at the bottom of the notification) stating that you have NOT passed HSSLC or above.
  5. Envelope Superscription: Clearly write in block letters on top of the envelope: “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF PEON”.
  6. Submission: Submit the application through Speed Post, Ordinary Postal Service, or drop it directly in the Drop Box kept at the District Court office.
