Position: GIS Assistant
Number of Positions: 11
Essential Qualifications:
i) Obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Geo-informatics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field. Complement it with a Certificate/Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing or Geo-informatics. Alternatively, possess an M. Tech/MSc in GIS & Remote Sensing/Geo-informatics.
ii) Hold an MCA/MA/MSc in Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Environmental Science, with Geoinformatics as a subject, or a Certificate/Diploma in GIS/Remote Sensing or Geo-informatics.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Proficiency in GIS Software like ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper, or other industry-standard applications.
- Familiarity with spatial data formats (e.g., Shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML) and coordinate systems.
- Expertise in Geo-spatial analysis, image processing techniques, and tools for geospatial data development.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and independent work skills.
- Prior experience in a GIS-related role or internship (preferred but not mandatory).
Navigating the Job Roles
Successful candidates will find themselves engaged in a variety of stimulating tasks, including:
- Digitization of geospatial data for Cadastral and Non-cadastral villages.
- Updating Cadastral Maps in Bhunaksha.
- Conducting quality assurance checks on GIS data to ensure accuracy.
- Preparing GIS-related reports, presentations, and data visualizations.
- Offering technical support to team members and end-users.
- Interpretation of drone photos/HRSI and utilizing survey machinery in land mapping.
Remuneration:
Enjoy a competitive salary of Rs. 25,000/- per month.
