Directorate of Cultural Affairs Assam Selected list for beneficiaries of Silpi Sambardhana: Directorate of Cultural Affairs Assam has announce Selected beneficiaries of Silpi Sambardhana and Support for Artists and Technicians of Mobile Theatre. As per Advertisement No. DIPR/ D/ 9682/ 19 dated 01.02.2020 and 03.02.2020 the District wise name of selected beneficiaries under the schemes “Silpi Sambardhana” and Support for Artist and Technicians Of Mobile Theatres” for the financial year 2020-21 as selected/ recommended by the Expert Committees are published as below. This will also be available on official website @ directorculture.assam.gov.in.
Govt of Assam has decided to provide ₹ 50,000 grant to 2000 artists & technician of Bhramyamam Theatre. Under the Cultural Affairs of Assam and direction of CM Sarbananda Sonowal, Silpi Sambardhana scheme is launch under which Bhramyamam Theatre Silpi Aru Kala-Kushali, artists and technicians will receive ₹ 50,000 each. Selected beneficiaries of Silpi Sambardhana and Support for Artists and Technicians of Mobile Theatre
The state government has been financing a ‘Silpi Pension’ of 8000 rupees per month to 125 artistes. The government has also provided a one-time ex-gratia grant of 50,000 rupees to 95 artistes, along with a family pension of 4000 rupees per month to 12 beneficiaries. The state government has also provided a one-time special financial assistance of 50,000 rupees to 20 families of deceased artists. Further, 1000 artists and technicians of mobile theatres have been provided a one-time grant of 50,000 rupees. Under the ‘Silpi Sambardhana’ scheme, 1000 artists have been provided with 50,000 rupees.

The schemes for providing financial assistance to the artistes and technicians was first announced in December 2019. Along with the ‘Silpi Sambardhana’ scheme, the state government launched another policy called ‘Bhramyaman Theatre Silpi Aur Kala-Kushali Achoni’. Both these schemes have reportedly covered over two thousand artists and technicians in the state. These financial assistance schemes were announced and implemented in the hopes of encouraging the artistes and technicians who are engaged in the various traditional theatre forms of Assam and contribute greatly to the rich cultural tapestry of the state.
Benefits of the Silpi Sambardhana Achoni
As I have said above that the total amount of benefit received by the artists and technicians is ₹ 50,000 for each. As far so 2000 artists & technicians are selected for the grant under Silpi Sambardhana Achoni. However the amount is an only one-time payment, aims to promote the cultural activities in Assam.
