Gaonburha Recruitment 2025:  The Assam Government has announced the recruitment for 20 vacant Gaonburha (Village Headman) posts in Jorhat District, as per notifications dated 10/04/2018 (No. RLR 187/2007/39), 19/07/2019 (No. RLR 187/2007/Part/24), and 26/08/2021 (No. RLR 73/2020/3). Applications are invited from eligible local candidates for positions in the East, West, Titabor, and Mariani Revenue Circles.

Eligibility Criteria for Gaonburha Posts

To apply for the Gaonburha positions, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1. Citizenship and Residency: Must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of the village or Gaonburha lot applied for.
2. Family Size: As per notification dated 19/07/2019 (No. RLR 187/2007/Part/24), candidates should not have more than two children. An affidavit stating the number, age, and birth dates of children is required. This rule does not apply to those with more than two children before the notification date.
3. Age Limit: As of 01/01/2025, candidates must be at least 30 years old and not exceed 65 years. Proof of age (e.g., HSLC Admit Card) is mandatory.
4. Educational Qualification: Minimum qualification is Class 10 pass from a recognized board or institution. Relevant certificates must be attached.
5. Physical and Mental Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit and mentally sound.
6. Financial Status: Candidates must not be bankrupt or have outstanding government dues. A loan clearance certificate is required.
7. Preference: Priority will be given to family members of existing Gaonburhas, subject to the Mouzadar’s opinion (certificate may be attached).
8. Employment Status: Candidates must not be government employees.
9. Property Ownership: Candidates must own land/property in their name in the applied area. Recent Jamabandi, land ownership proof, and tax payment receipts are required.
10. Political Affiliation: Candidates must not be members of any political party.
11. Community Involvement: Preference for candidates who assist in implementing government policies and provide support during natural disasters.
12. Reputation: Candidates should be respected, skilled, and hold a reputable position in society.
