About Gauhati University Recruitment 2026
Gauhati University is recruiting professionals for a prestigious environmental research project titled “Aquatic Ecology Monitoring at Brahmaputra Bridge Construction Site with Special Emphasis on Migratory Birds, Turtle, Fishes and Ganges River Dolphin Population & Habitat Monitoring along with Conservation Awareness of Fringe Area Population.”

The research focuses on ecological monitoring during the construction of the proposed 4-Lane Extra Dosed PSC Bridge over River Brahmaputra connecting Patashbari and Sualkuchi.
An added advantage is that candidates selected for Senior Project Associate and Project Associate (GIS) posts will be eligible to enroll for a Ph.D. under the Centre for Brahmaputra Studies, Gauhati University.

1. Senior Project Associate
- Postgraduate Degree in Life Science, Natural Science, Geography, or related disciplines.
- Experience in monitoring Ganges River Dolphins in the Brahmaputra River.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as Senior Project Associate in third-party bridge construction monitoring projects.
- NET Qualification is mandatory.
2. Project Associate (GIS)
- Postgraduate Degree in Life Science, Natural Science, Geography, or related subjects.
- Practical experience in GIS, habitat mapping, and environmental monitoring.
- Experience in bridge construction monitoring projects.
3. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
- First Year: ₹35,000 per month
- Second Year: ₹40,000 per month
- Third Year: ₹40,000 per month
