Eligibility Criteria for Handloom Weaving Course
Candidates must satisfy the following criteria to be eligible for admission:
1. Citizenship and Residency
- The applicant must be a Citizen of India.
- The applicant must be a Permanent Resident of Assam.
2. Educational Qualification
- The minimum educational qualification required is Class VIII (8th) passed or above from a recognized school board.
3. Age Limit (As of 01.01.2026)
- Minimum Age: 15 Years.
- Maximum Age: 25 Years.
- Age Relaxation: Standard government norms apply for SC, ST, and OBC candidates regarding age relaxation.
Stipend and Seat Reservation Policy
Monthly Stipend
The selected trainees will be provided with a monthly stipend of ₹1,500.
- Note: The disbursement of the stipend is subject to a minimum of 80% attendance and satisfactory performance throughout the training period.
Seat Reservation
Admission follows the state government’s reservation policy for the following categories:
- OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H).
- Persons with Disability (PWD).
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
