What are the charges for Aadhaar services at post offices?

Aadhaar enrolment is FREE. The charge for updating Aadhaar details is Rs. 29.50 (inclusive of applicable taxes). Do not forget to take a receipt of the payment made.

YES. Anyone (from a newborn to elderly) can enrol for Aadhaar from Aadhaar centre in post offices, anywhere in the country.

I do not have any address proof or ID for my child. How can I apply for the child’s Aadhaar?

A child’s Aadhaar is linked to the Aadhaar of one of the parents. The parent needs to take the child to any Aadhaar enrolment centre (available in post offices) along with a Proof of Relationship (PoR) document such as Birth Certificate, Passport etc.

Biometrics were not taken for my child when Aadhaar was made. Do we need to update his Aadhaar? What would be the charges?

YES. biometrics of the child need to be mandatorily updated at age 5 years and then again at age 15 years. This update is FREE of cost. Please visit the Aadhaar enrolment centre in your nearby post office for biometric update.

Can I send someone else on my behalf with update form and documents to Aadhaar centre for updation in my Aadhaar details?

NO. You need to biometrically authenticate for updation in your Aadhaar data. For this, your physical presence at the Aadhaar centre  is required.
