Matri Pitri Vandana- Special Leave For Employees Online Application: : In a bid to give enough time to state government employees to spend quality time with their family members in 6 and 7 January this year, the Assam cabinet on approved parental leave. The Department of General Administration, Assam has developed a new portal called “Matri Pitri Vandana” to introduce online casual leave for the state’s Assam government employee. Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has requested government employees to use special holidays to spend quality time with parents, in-laws and other family members on two-day leave on January 6 and 7 this year. Government employees desirous of this special casual leave will be able to avail the benefits by applying online. Below is the process of filling online applications with important links.

During these days, an employee can visit his home and spend some quality time with their parents or in-laws. However, these leaves cannot be availed for any other purpose and on the other hand those employees whose parents are not alive cannot take this leave. From top civil servant to fourth grade, all employees can avail the leave, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said. While speaking to media persons  after chairing the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister said that the motive behind the idea is that the employees should get enough time to spend with their family members in the New Year as well as seek their blessings so that they work for the betterment of the state.

Assam Govt Gives Two-day Special Leave to Its Employees to Spend Quality Time With Parents, In-laws

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday urged the state government employees to spend quality time with their family members on January 6 and 7 designated as “special holidays”. The state government had approved the decision to allow special leave for its employees so that they can spend quality time with their parents or in-laws.

Taking to Twitter, he said, “To uphold ancient Indian values, I urge Assam government employees to spend quality time with their parents/in-laws on January 6 and 7 designated as special holidays.”

“I request them to rededicate themselves to the cause of building a new Assam and new India with blessings of their parents,” he added.

How To Apply Special Casual Leave Online Application

The notification issued by the Assam government reads, “The Assam government is pleased to allow state government employees to avail casual leave on January 6 and 7, 2022, suffixing the two holidays, the 8th and 9th of January 2022, being the 2nd Saturday and Sunday, so as to enable them to spend the aforesaid days with their living parents and parents-in-law.”

State government employees who are not able to support their surviving parents/parents are not able to do so. They want 2 (two) days of casual leave to spend with their in-laws, they can avail it by applying online. 1. Go to the Portal : https://matripitrivandana.assam.gov.in”.
2. Click on the Register button and provide the Data for Registration.
3. Provide the Mobile Number used during the time of Registration.
4. OTP will be sent to the Registered Mobile Number.
5. Use the OTP for login.
6. After login click on apply button to apply for leave & fill in the details of the leave in the form.
7. Click on view details button to view the apply option.
8. Click on generate button to generate the application which needs to be signed by Head of the Department and the applicant.
9. After availing the leave, click on upload button to upload the photograph ( 2 Nos. ) along with the signed application downloaded earlier for final approval of the leave.

FAQ

1. How to register in the Portal?

Click on the “Click here to Register” button in the Login area of the home page. This will display you a form which is to be filled up and click on the “Register” button to register in the portal. A message regarding successful registration will be displayed, if you are registered successfully. Otherwise, it will display an error message. Then you will have correct the data as per the error message and click on the “Register” button again. A passport size photo and govt. Identity card will be required to upload while registering. The Registration is one time process. Once you are registered in the portal then no need to register again in the next year.

2. How to Logib to the portal?

Enter your registered mobile no. in the textbox of the Login area and click on the “Send OTP” button. An OTP will come to your registered mobile no. Enter the OTP in the textbox provided for it and click on “Login with OTP” button. If the OTP is correct, you will be successfully login into the portal and dashboard will be displayed.

3. How to Apply for Special Casual Leave?

First you will have to do one time registration in the portal as described in FAQ 1, for applying for leave. Once you are registered, you can login to the portal using you mobile no. and OTP sent to the mobile no. (Described in FAQ 2). After successful login you can apply for leave by clicking on the “Apply for Leave” button.

4. What I have to do after applying for leave?

Download your leave application, print it, sign it and also get it signed by the concerned authority of your office. After availing the leave, you will have to login to the portal again and upload your leave application signed by the concerned authority and two copies of photos with your parents of parents-in-laws taken during the leave period.

5. Can I apply for Special Leave on other dates?

If you are an employee of emergency service department then you can apply for leave later some other date also if not availed the leave on the dates specified by the government earlier. However, your application has to be approved by the concerned authority. You will have to follow the same procedure as defined in the question no. 2.
