Eligibility Criteria
- Residency: Permanent resident of any North Eastern States.
- Duration: Available for the prescribed duration of a course with renewal conditions. No extension beyond the prescribed period.
- Other Scholarships: Must not be receiving any other scholarships or financial assistance. Sponsored or working/in-service candidates are not eligible.
- Year of Awarding: Only for the year of commencement of the course. Renewal only for subsequent years.
- Course Eligibility: Diploma, Degree, Post-graduate, or M.Phil./Ph.D. in recognized institutes.
- Family Income: Annual income of parents/guardians should not exceed Rs 8 lakh.
- Educational Qualification: Minimum 60% marks in the previous qualifying examination.
Selection Process
- Merit lists are drawn from verified applications as per scheme guidelines.
- For M.Phil. and Ph.D., the selection is based on the relevance of research topics to NE Region issues.
- The scholarship is merit-based, determined by marks obtained in qualifying exams.
