PNRD Assam Recruitment 2026: The Commissionerate of Panchayat and Rural Development Assam has released an official advertisement dated 19-02-2026 inviting online applications for 1508 contractual posts under flagship schemes like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G).

🗣️ Language Proficiency Requirement
To ensure effective coordination and reporting, candidates must possess a good command (both verbal and written) of the following languages:
Purpose: Proficiency in these languages is essential as selected candidates will be required to communicate and coordinate directly with the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
🎯 Important Instructions
- • Citizenship: Candidates must be permanent citizens of India as defined under Articles 5 to 9 of the Constitution of India.
- • Language Proficiency: Good knowledge of English, Hindi, and Assamese language is mandatory as candidates will need to coordinate with the Ministry of Rural Development.
- • Nature of Post: These positions have been created under flagship programmes (MGNREGA/PMAY-G) and are purely contractual.
- • Tenure: Engagement will be co-terminus with the duration of the flagship programme. No requests for continuation of service or extensions will be entertained.
The test is OMR-based with 75 questions. Each question carries 1 mark. The total duration for the exam is 2 hours.
- 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
- 0.5 marks deducted for selecting more than one option on a 2-mark question.
*Additional technical questions will be included for Accredited Engineers.
- Paper-I: For GP Coordinator, Computer Assistant, and Gram Rozgar Sahayak.
- Paper-II: For Accredited Engineer.
Candidates who qualify the written test based on the merit list will appear for a viva of 25 marks. Final merit lists will be prepared category-wise for each post.
