The decision has been taken after PM Modi announced a 21-day lockout across the country due to Corona virus in the country, forcing people to stay inside their homes for the next 21 days. Honorable Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman while addressing the concerned said that in view of the ongoing situation in the country, the government will provide an additional pension of Rs 1000 for the elderly persons with disabilities for the coming 3 months in the country and this benefit is given through the direct benefit transfer through DBT. About three crore beneficiaries will be covered under this scheme.

Deendayal Scheme for Self-Service Groups

By amending under Deendayal Yojana by the Government of India, now women working under Women Self Help Group will be provided loans up to ₹ 20 Lakhs, this amount was limited to Rs.10 Lakhs earlier as well as all the 3 months to come by the Government. For women whose accounts are opened under Jan Dhan, an amount of Rs 500 will be made available through DBT for the next 3 months.

LPG BPL Gas scheme

Keeping in mind the disaster of Karona virus, it was recently decided to lock down 21 days by the government, but at the same time keeping in view the condition of the poor, the Government of India gave three LPG gas cylinders to all BPL families for the coming 3 months. Under the scheme, about 8.3 lakh crore beneficiaries will be included.
