Applications are invited from the eligible candidates who are citizen of India as defined under Article 5-8 of the Constitution of India in the preseribed Standard Form of Application published in Part-IX of the Assam Gazette along with the self attested copies of all testimonials and two recent passport size photographs (self attested) for filling up the following vacant posts under the office of the Assam Prison Headquarters. Name of the post: Driver
No. of post: 04 (STP-03, UR-01)
Qualification :– The minimum essential qualification for the post will he :-
1 . HSLC exam. passed or equivalent from a Govt. recognized Board / Council.
2. Must possess Light Motor Vehicle Driving License issued by the Competent Authority.
Experience: Minimum 3 years driving experience.
Age limit: A candidate for the post of Driver must be within the age limits of 18 years to 38 years on the first January of the year of advertisement. The upper age limit being relaxable as per existing Govt. Rules.
Required :- A candidate must have :
(i) Sound health, both mentally and physically and free from organic defect or bodily infirmity likely to interfere with the efficient performance of his duties.
(ii) Required to undergo medical examination before appointment to the service.
( iii) A candidate will produce to the selection board certificates of good character from.
(a)The Principal / Headmaster of the College/ High School in which he studied last and.
(b) Two respectable persons, who are well acquainted with, but not related to the candidate.
Selection Process for Prisons, Assam Recruitment 2017 Driver post:
Written Test: Written Test of 20 marks will be held for the post of Driver to test the candidates knowledge of Driving Road signals, mechancial/technical knowledge.
Driving Test: Driving Test for 20 marks will be conducted to test the candidates skills of dirving, maintenance and motor mechanics.

Application to be addressed to the Assam Prison Headquaters, Khanapara, Guwahati-22 alongwith one self addressd envelops of 5 cm x 11 cm affixing postal stamp of Rs. 5/- only will have to be sent/submitted in a sealed indication the post applied for on the top of envelops to the Office of the Assam Prison Headquarters, Khanapara, Guwahati-22 on or before 11th December, 2017 during office hours. Applications received either by post or by hand delivered, after the last date of submission of application shall not be accepted under any circumstances.
