MODE OF SELECTION:
(i) Computer Based Test (CBT):
Eligible candidates must participate in the Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted in Hindi/English. The CBT comprises 100 Objective type questions divided into 2 segments: 50 on Domain Knowledge and 50 on Aptitude Test. The duration of the CBT is 90 minutes.
(ii) Qualifying Marks:
The minimum qualifying marks in the CBT will be determined based on a 50 percentile score for unreserved/EWS posts and a 40 percentile score for posts reserved for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy Layer)/PwBDs. The qualifying marks will be calculated separately for each post/discipline.
(iii) Shortlisting for Skill Test:
Candidates who qualify in the CBT for the mentioned posts will be shortlisted for the skill test in order of merit, at a ratio of 1:3 for each post/discipline. If multiple candidates achieve the cut-off marks, all of them will be called for the skill test. The skill test will be conducted at any Plant/Unit/Mines location of the SAIL.
(iv) Final Selection:
The Skill Test is only qualifying in nature. For final selection, the weightage of marks of the CBT will be 100%. Based on reservation criteria, offer letters will be issued to candidates with higher marks in the CBT. In case of a tie in the CBT cut-off marks, the candidate with higher marks in the eligibility qualification will be chosen.
(v) Formation of Discipline-wise Panel:
A discipline-wise panel will be formed in order of merit (in the ratio of 1:1, i.e., number of posts advertised to the number of candidates in the panel). This panel will be activated in case of non-joining of candidates against the initial offer of appointment. The panel will remain valid for a period of six months from the date of approval.
(vi) Admission to CBT/Skill Test:
Candidates will be permitted for CBT/Skill Test upon production of the call letter/admit card, one Government-approved photo identity proof, and after undergoing Biometric authentication at the venue.
PHYSICAL STANDARD:
The health standards indicated above are minimum pre-requisites. However, appointment of selected candidates will be subject to they being found medically fit by the Company’s Medical Officer / Board as per standards laid down under SAIL Medical & Health Manual.
