Established in 1971, Sipajhar College Assam has emerged as a beacon of higher education in the Darrang district. Commencing with Pre-university classes in 1971 and expanding to Degree Classes in 1980, the college achieved permanent affiliation with Gauhati University. Under the Deficit Grant in Aid system of the Government of Assam since 1986, and registration under 2(f) and 12B of the UGC since 1996, Sipajhar College attained “provincialised” status in December 2005 through the Assam College Provincialisation Act.
