Eligibility Criteria for SSC CPO Recruitment 2025
To be eligible for the Sub-Inspector posts, candidates must meet specific age and educational qualifications as laid out by the Staff Selection Commission.
Age Requirements:
Applicants must be between 20 and 25 years of age as of August 1, 2025. This means candidates should have been born no earlier than August 2, 2000, and no later than August 1, 2005, to be considered eligible.
Age Relaxation: Permissible relaxations in the upper age limit are provided for different categories:
- SC/ ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service rendered from actual age.
Educational Qualifications:

- General Intelligence and Reasoning: This section covers both verbal and non-verbal reasoning. Topics include analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization and orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, figural classification, number series, non-verbal series, coding-decoding, statement conclusions, syllogistic reasoning, semantic topics, symbolic operations, trends, Venn Diagrams, drawing inferences, pattern-folding, embedded figures, critical thinking, and emotional & social intelligence.
- General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions will assess candidates’ general awareness of their surroundings and its societal application. It includes current events, everyday observations, and scientific aspects, along with knowledge pertaining to India and its neighboring countries, focusing on History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research.
- Quantitative Aptitude: This component tests the appropriate use of numbers and number sense.
