Assam University Silchar is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for the position of Senior Research Fellow. You’ll be involved in a fascinating project titled “Sustainable Restoration of Agricultural soils Contaminated with Complex Hydrocarbon Pollutants of ‘Produced Water’ through Rhizoremediation,” funded by the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS). This project aims to develop methods for restoring agricultural land impacted by complex hydrocarbon pollutants using a technique called rhizoremediation, which leverages the power of plant roots and their associated microbes. Monthly Fellowship: Rs. 35,000/- + HRA

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should possess:

• Educational Background: M.Sc. in Microbiology
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) with proficiency in microbiological techniques
• Preferred Expertise: Candidates with experience in environmental microbiology will receive preference

Selection Process:

• Walk-in interview will be held on March 26th, 2024 (from 2 PM onwards).
• Location: Department of Microbiology, Assam University, Silchar
