Eligibility Criteria for CSIR UGC NET Exam
Age Limit
- JRF: Maximum 30 years as of February 2025 (Relaxations: 5 years for OBC-NCL, SC/ST, PwD, Third Gender, and women applicants).
- Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.
- Admission to Ph.D.: No upper age limit.
Educational Qualifications
- General/Unreserved/General-EWS: At least 55% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent from recognized institutions.
- OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: At least 50% marks.
- Provisional Candidates: Those pursuing or awaiting results for Master’s Degree must complete the degree within:
- 2 years (for eligibility for Assistant Professor/JRF).
- 1 year (for eligibility for Ph.D. only).
Stipend for Junior Research Fellows (JRF)
- Monthly Stipend: ₹37,000 for the first two years.
- Annual Contingency Grant: ₹20,000.
