CSIR UGC NET Notification December 2024: The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has officially released the notification for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET Examination December 2024. Eligibility Criteria for CSIR UGC NET Exam

Age Limit

  • JRF: Maximum 30 years as of February 2025 (Relaxations: 5 years for OBC-NCL, SC/ST, PwD, Third Gender, and women applicants).
  • Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.
  • Admission to Ph.D.: No upper age limit.

Educational Qualifications

  • General/Unreserved/General-EWS: At least 55% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent from recognized institutions.
  • OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: At least 50% marks.
  • Provisional Candidates: Those pursuing or awaiting results for Master’s Degree must complete the degree within:
    • 2 years (for eligibility for Assistant Professor/JRF).
    • 1 year (for eligibility for Ph.D. only).

Stipend for Junior Research Fellows (JRF)

  • Monthly Stipend: ₹37,000 for the first two years.
  • Annual Contingency Grant: ₹20,000.
