- Unreserved: Maximum 25 years.
- SC/ST: Maximum 27 years.
Reservation Policy
IIHT Guwahati follows a structured reservation policy to ensure equitable opportunities:
- Weavers’ Community: 20% of seats are reserved for candidates from the weavers’ community. Any shortfall is filled by candidates from other communities.
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 10% of seats are reserved for EWS candidates.
- SC/ST/OBC/MOBC: Reservations are as per the prevailing policies of the Assam State Government.
Merit is determined based on the aggregate marks in the 10th standard or equivalent exam. In case of a tie, preference is given to candidates with higher marks in Science and Mathematics combined.
