Date Description: Distribution Process of Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award 2026

DHE Assam, will download the data of students who have scored 80% or more marks in ASSEB Higher Secondary Examination 2026 from (ASSEB) directly. DHE Assam will create and release the list of eligible beneficiaries on its official site based on the official test information.

All the students who are given on the beneficiary list ought to finish the online application technique within the stipulated time through the official DHE Assam portal. The Directorate, upon verifying all applications and documents received as per the record will then nominate Nodal Principals at those institutions for coordination of scooter distribution process.

An Appreciation Certificate will be issued to all eligible beneficiaries by the Nodal Principals so appointed. Students need to obtain this certificate after the Nodal Principal assigns it to their vehicle dealer as directed by the Government.

As a part of this initiative, the total expenditure on registration of vehicles and their insurance will be reimbursed by the Government of Assam. Nodal Principals will ensure that the necessary funds are made available and paid directly to the authorised dealers by confirming with them all details of the beneficiary. This means beneficiaries will not have to pay any registration or insurance fees at the time of receiving their scooters.

Along with the scooter, all selected students will also receive a helmet free of cost. But all costs associated with accessories, customisations or add-ons will be paid for by the beneficiary.

However, if an eligible student dies before the scooter is delivered to him/her, the legal guardian will have a choice whether or not to claim the benefit and as per guidelines of this scheme.

To be noted here is that the students who are entitled to get benefits under Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Award (Pragyan Bharati Scheme) shall not be entitled for getting benefits under Nijut Moina Scheme; and vice versa resorts. But a girl student benefits from Scooty Scheme and later chooses not to avail of the Scooty Schemes, can apply for the Nijut Moina Scheme, as per existing Government of Assam rules for eligibility.
