Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya Job Vacancy Details

1. Assistant Professor:

Disciplines: Economics, English, Performing Arts (Dance/Drama/Music), and Applied Psychology.

Minimum qualification and experience:

(i) Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University.
(ii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or Ph.D. Degree (under the new regulation of UGC).
(iii) Candidates having Ph.D. shall be preferred.

2. Associate Professor

Disciplines: Economics, Performing Arts, Philosophy, Social Work, and Yogic Science and Naturopathy.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

(i) Good academic record with a Ph. D. Degree in the concerned/ allied/relevant disciplines.
(ii) A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
(iii) A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research papers, in the subject concerned.
(iv) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technologymediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
(v) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) as per the Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the UGC’s revised Regulation of minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers.

3. Professor

Disciplines: Economics, Performing Arts, Philosophy, Social Work, Sociology and Yogic Science & Naturopathy.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

(a) (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
(ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.
(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process.
(iv) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) as per the Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the UGC’s revised Regulation of minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers.
OR
(b) An outstanding professional with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

Application Fees and Last Date: Candidate are required to pay an amount of Rs. 2,000.00 (Rupees two thousand) only for teaching post by demand draft in favour of “REGISTRAR, MAHAPURUSHA SRIMANTA SANKARADEVA VISWAVIDYALAYA” payable at “State Bank of India, Nagaon Main Branch (IFSC: SBIN0000146)” or Cash at Accounts Branch of the University as an application fees for the post. Completed application in prescribed form along with necessary enclosures must reach

N.B.:

Conditions to be fulfilled after appointment:

a) A person appointed to the post of a Teacher join within one month from the date of issue of appointment order, failing which the appointment order is liable to be cancelled, provided that in exceptional circumstances, the Vice-Chancellor may extend this period.
b) Before a person appointed to the post of a Teacher joins in his/her post, he/she shall execute an agreement with the university that he/she shall strictly abide by the provisions of the Acts and the Ordinances. A Teacher shall also undertake in the agreement to submit to the Vice-Chancellor a self-appraisal report of his/her performance annually.
c) The person, after joining the post of Teacher, will be subjected to the provisions of the MSSV Teachers’ Service Conditions Ordinance and Officer to be provisions of MSSV Employees’ Service Conditions Ordinance, etc.
