Notification for B. Sc (Nursing)/ GNM Course 2017 in lOCL, Digboi Refinery

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals fulfilling the following eligibility criteria for admission to the B.Sc (Nursing) and GNM Indian Oil Corporation Ltd course at lOCL(AOD). Digboi Refinery. Only Unmarried female candidates meeting the following criteria may apply.

1. B. Sc (Nursing) course will be a full time regular course for a duration of 4 (four) years

No. of Seat: 30 (Unreserved-17, SC-02, ST-03, OBC-08)

Eligibility: HSSLC (i.e 10+2) with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and English Core/English Elective with minimum aggregate of 50% .Marks for General/OBC category and 45% Marks for SC/ST category. The qualification should be from a Government recognized board under AHSEC/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board.

2. General Nursing & Midwifery Course (GNM) course will be a full time regular course for a duration of 3 (three) years

No. of Seat: 30 (Unreserveb-17 SC-02. ST-03, OBC-08)

Eligibility: HSSLC (i.e 10+2) with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and English OR HSSLC (i.e 10+2) with Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies. Accountancy, Home Science. Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science- Vocational stream ONLY. OR any other equivalent examination as per INC norms. The qualification should be from a Government recognized Board under AHSEC/AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE with minimum aggregate of 40% Marks for General/OBC category and 35% Marks for SC/ST category. Preference shall be given to candidates possessing HSSLC (i.e 10+2) with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and English.

Age limit: Minimum 17 years and Maximum 24 years as on 31/12/2017 (Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC& PH candidates as per presidential directives).

SELECTION PROCEDURE: Selection would be based on Written Test and Personal Interview to be held at Digboi. The candidates will have to pass successfully through each stage of the selection process i,e candidates will have to acquire minimum 40% (relaxable by 5% for candidates from SC/ST/PWD categories against reserved positions) at each stage of selection process for being suitable for engagement including pre-engagement medical examination for selection to the above course. Candidates successful with the above criteria will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:2 for interview to be held at Digboi.

MODE OF ADMISSION & RECOGNITION: The students of GNM will be admitted to Assam Oil School of Nursing (AOSN), which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council. B.Sc (Nursing) students will get admission to Assam Oil College of Nursing (AOCN). AOCN is affiliated to Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, Guwahati and the course is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.

Income Certificate: Applications must be accompanied by an income certificate issued by competent Revenue Authority not below the rank of Circle Revenue Inspector/any other competent authority authorized to issue such income certificate in the state, indicating Gross joint annual Income of the family of candidate from all sources. Any affidavit for income proof will not be accepted. The income certificate should be a recent certificate issued in the current year i.e. 2017.

A. B.Sc (Nursing): The selected candidates shall be paid a consolidated stipend per month for 1st year – *2,800/-; 2nd year – *3,000/-; 3ro year – *3,200/-, and for 4tn year – *3,400/-

B. General Nursing & Midwifery Course (GNM): The selected candidates shall be paid a consolidated stipend per month for 15* year – *2,500/-; 2nd year – *2,700/-; 3rd year – *2,900/-

• SC/ST/PH candidates appearing for written test / interview shall be reimbursed 2nd class rail/bus fare by the shortest route on production of ticket, provided the distance travelled from the mailing address to the venue of Test/interview exceeds 60 KM both ways.

• One candidate can apply for one course only, failing which her candidature shall be summarily rejected.

• For claiming the benefit of OBC category’, the candidate should submit a latest caste certificate in the proforma prescribed by Govt, of India, which would, among others, specifically mention that the candidate does not belong to the persons/sections (creamy layer) as mentioned in column 3 of the schedule to the Department of Personnel & Training in the Government of India OM No. 36012/22/93-Estt (SCT) dated 8-9-1993. Candidates belonging to OBC category but falling in creamy layer are not entitled to OBC reservation benefits. IOCL (AOD) being a Central Public Sector Undertaking, only those communities that are listed in the common list of OBC prepared by Central Government shall be treated as OBC for the purpose of reservation.

• The candidates applying under PWD (Persons With Disability) category are required to submit the Disability certificate issued by the competent authority in the format prescribed by Government of India for this purpose. The disability of the candidates applying under OH category will be disability of locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity and other eligibility criteria will be as per Indian Nursing council guidelines for the above programme.

• The candidates seeking reservations under Digboi Legislative Constituency are required to produce PRC/Voter identity card and no other document shall be considered as support document.

• Applications without supporting documents/incomplete/not fulfilling the prescribed criteria in any respect are liable to be rejected. ‘

• The decision of the Management will be final and binding on all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications, mode of selection, cancellation of the selection process etc.

• At any stage of the selection processes or after selection if it is found that the candidate has furnished false or incorrect information then the candidature of the candidate or selection to the above course is liable to be terminated /cancelled. Canvassing in any form is liable to render the candidate ineligible for the above selection process.

How to Apply: Typed Applications in A4 size as per the prescribed format as given in the advertisement , supported by self attested photocopies of all relevant documents (qualification/experience/age/caste/category/Physically Handicapped certificate from competent authority etc.) and Income Certificate issued by competent revenue authority not below the rank of Circle Revenue Inspector/any other competent authority authorized to issue such income certificate in the state.
