SSC MTS Admit Card 2024
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is preparing for the SSC MTS and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Computer Based Examination for the Multi-Tasking Staff in different ministries and organizations. What is SSC MTS?
The SSC conducts the Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) examination for the recruitment of candidates on a national level. Its purpose is to recruit various vacancies in different government ministries, which can prevent the departments from stalling by offering necessary supportive services. The Havaldar post, on the other hand, comes under the CGST (Central Goods and Services Tax) and the CBIC (Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs) as well as the CBN (Central Bureau of Narcotics), which makes it an essential part of the Indian revenue enforcement mechanism.

Scheme of SSC MTS Examination
The SSC MTS examination includes a Computer Based Examination and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) (for the post of Havaldar).
Computer Based Examination
The CBE consists of two sessions held on the same day. Candidates must attempt both sessions as missing any session results in disqualification.
Session I
- Numerical and Mathematical Ability: 20 MCQs (60 marks)
- Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving: 20 MCQs (60 marks)
- Total Marks: 120
- Duration: 45 minutes
This session focuses on the candidates’ ability to solve mathematical problems and logical reasoning.
Session II
- General Awareness: 25 MCQs (75 marks)
- English Language and Comprehension: 25 MCQs (75 marks)
- Total Marks: 150
- Duration: 45 minutes
Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking in Session-I. In Session-II, there will be negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
Time Duration: The candidates will get 45 Minutes to complete Session-I. Immediately after completion of Session-I, Session-II will start. Session-II will also be for 45 Minutes.
Normalization: Marks scored by candidates in Computer Based Examination, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission through Notice No: 1-1/2018-P&P-I dated 07-02-2019 and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.

General Awareness: The broad coverage of the test will be on Social Studies (History, Geography, Art and Culture, Civics, Economics), General Science and Environmental studies up to 10th Standard.
English Language and Comprehension: Candidates’ understanding of the basics of English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. and to test comprehension, a simple paragraph may be given and question based on the paragraph to be asked.
Note: For VH candidates of 40% and above visual disability, there will be no component of Maps/Graphs/Diagrams/Statistical Data in the Paper.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST)
The PET/PST is applicable for the post of Havaldar in CBIC and CBN. The standards are as follows:
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Male: 1600 meters walking in 15 minutes
- Female: 1 km walking in 20 minutes
Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Male:
- Height: 157.5 cms (relaxable by 5 cms for certain categories)
- Chest: 81 cms (with minimum expansion of 5 cms)
- Female:
- Height: 152 cms (relaxable by 2.5 cms for certain categories)
- Weight: 48 kg (relaxable by 2 kg for certain categories)
