Assam Employment Exchange Revolutionizes Job Seeker Re-registration

Assam Employment Exchange is spearheading a transformative shift by introducing an online re-registration process for job seekers. The state’s Skills, Employment, and Entrepreneurship Minister, Jayanta Mallabaruah, unveiled this initiative during a recent press conference, emphasizing its significance. The re-registration portal, available on Sewasetu (sewasetu.assam.gov.in) and the Employment Exchange website (employment.assam.gov.in), will remain accessible from January 2 to February 29.

Enhancing Profiles and Transfers

Profile Update:

Registered job seekers can now update specific sections of their profiles, ensuring their information is current and relevant.

This feature enables job seekers to seamlessly transfer their Employment Exchange registration from one district to another, fostering greater flexibility.

Qualification Upgrade/Addition:

Job seekers can elevate their qualifications to the latest levels, empowering them to stay competitive in the evolving job market.

Update Employment Status:

This option allows registered individuals to promptly update their employment status, keeping their profiles accurate and reflective of their current professional standing.

Streamlined Application Process

Assam citizens can undertake the re-registration process through two distinct methods:

1) Aadhaar Based:

  • Preferential Option: Citizens with an Assam-based Aadhaar can conveniently re-register through the Employment Exchange, streamlining the process.
  • Employed Individuals: Those already employed seeking better opportunities need a “No Objection Certificate” from their employer before re-registration.
  • Mandatory Fields: All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are obligatory for completion.
  • Renewal Cycle: Registrants must renew their registration every three years, with a grace period of three months, failing which may lead to cancellation.

2) Non-Aadhaar Based:

  • Eligibility Criteria: This method is for candidates whose Aadhaar is blocked due to NRC issues. They need to approach the nearest Employment Exchange for assistance.
  • Verification Process: After online registration, candidates undergo physical verification of original documents at the Employment Exchange.
  • Renewal Guidelines: Similar to Aadhaar-based re-registration, renewals must occur every three years, with a grace period of three months.

Required Documents for Re-registration

For Aadhaar Based Registration:

  • Existing Registration Card
  • Age Proof: Birth Certificate/HSLC Admit card/School Certificate
  • Proof of Residency: Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Copy of Chitha/Jamabandi, Passport, Certified Copy of Electoral Roll/EPIC
  • Educational Qualification Certificate: Pass Certificate(s) and Mark Sheet(s)
  • Caste Certificate: SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/EWS applicants
  • P.W.D Certificate: For Persons with Disability, issued by a competent authority
  • Additional Qualification Certificate
  • Experience Certificate
  • Non-Creamy Layer Certificate

For Non-Aadhaar Based Registration:

  • Existing Registration Card

  • Service Charge (PFC/CSC): Rs. 30
  • Printing Charge (PFC/CSC): Rs. 10 per page
