Selection Process of Excise Constable

The selection process of Assam Excise Constable includes the following stages:

  1. Physical Standard Test (PST): In this stage, candidates will be checked for their height, weight, and chest measurements. Only candidates who meet the required physical standards will be allowed to appear for the physical efficiency test.

  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who clear the PST will be called for the PET. The PET will include the events mentioned in the previous answer. Candidates who qualify in the PET will be called for the next stage of the selection process.

The Assam Excise Department conducts a physical test for the recruitment of constables. The physical test consists of the following events:

  1. Race: Candidates will have to run a distance of 1600 meters within 6 minutes and 30 seconds.
  2. Long Jump: Candidates will have to complete a long jump of minimum 335 cm (for male candidates) and minimum 244 cm (for female candidates) in three chances.
  3. High Jump: Candidates will have to complete a high jump of minimum 122 cm (for male candidates) and minimum 107 cm (for female candidates) in three chances.
  4. Chin-up: Candidates will have to complete a minimum of 6 chin-ups (for male candidates) and a minimum of 4 chin-ups (for female candidates).

Note: There will be no marks awarded for any of the events. However, candidates who fail to qualify in any of the events will be disqualified from further selection process.
