Embark on a journey with Rain Forest Research Institute (RFRI) Jorhat Assam, a beacon of excellence since its inception in April 1988. Rooted in a commitment to bolster the forestry sector in the northeastern region, RFRI’s origins trace back to 1976 when a Regional Centre of Forest Research Institute, Dehra Dun, took root at Burnihat (Assam). Over the years, the Centre flourished, evolving into the Institute of Rain and Moist Deciduous Forest Research (IRMDER), now recognized as the Rain Forest Research Institute (RFRI).
