Tezpur University Assam is seeking applications for various research-based positions in the field of linguistics. This recruitment drive offers an exciting opportunity for aspiring linguists to contribute to the “Speech Datasets and Models for Tibeto-Burman languages (SpeeD-TB)” project led by Dr. Amalesh Gope, Assistant Professor at the Department of Linguistics and Language Technology.

Tezpur University Linguist Vacancy 2024

✅Position: Linguist
✅Number of Openings: 3
✅Qualifications: Candidates must possess an M.A. in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or related fields.

Desirable Criteria:

1. Proficiency in tasks such as field data recording, IPA transcriptions, speech data annotation, and computational modeling.
2. Preference will be given to native speakers of Tibeto-Burman (TB) languages with a strong linguistic background.
3. Candidates with prior experience working with TB languages are encouraged to apply.

Fellowship:

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly fellowship of Rs. 45,000/-.

Age Limit:

Applicants should be below 35 years old at the time of the interview. Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per Government of India rules.

Selection Process:

A Walk-in-Interview will take place at the Department of Linguistics and Language Technology, Tezpur University, on April 23, 2024, at 10 AM.
