• B. Sc. (Agri) of 8 semesters

• M. Sc. (Agri) of 4 semesters

• M.Sc. (Food Technology) of four semesters

• MBA (Agri Business) of 4 semesters

• Ph. D. of 6 semesters

Eligibility: 10 +2 Examination passed or appeared candidates having the Certificates of Permanent Residence of Assam and wards of defense/para-military personnel posted in the State of Assam for at least one year only are eligible to apply for VET 2017 .

Application Fee: Students will pay Rupees 1,100.00/- towards ‘Application and Test Fee’ through online payment gateway integrated with the Application Form.

How to apply:

1. The candidate shall have to appear in Veterinary Entrance Test (VET) on the date & time notified (Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 10.00 AM onwards)

2. Please refer to the eligibility criteria mentioned in the Extracts of the MSVE 2016.

3. The sponsored candidates from foreign country under Bilateral/ Multilateral Agreement and NRI/NRI Sponsored candidates shall however be exempted from appearing in the VET 2017 provided that they meet the minimum Eligibility requirement in force.

4. Students applying for Veterinary Entrance Test 2017 should follow the following steps:

VET Steps

Step 1

a) Only online Application Form will be accepted for VET 2017. Registration will be opened with effect from April 24, 2017 and will close in the midnight of May 31, 2017.

b) During the registration process the student must have (i) a scanned passport size photograph (3 cm X 4 cm) and (ii) a scanned size signature (3 cm X 1cm) of the candidate both in jpeg format. Registration process cannot be completed without these scanned files.

c) After successful registration a Registration ID will be issued to the applicant. The Registration ID should be used in all the correspondences in future. Registration will be completed only after successful uploading of the scanned photograph and signature.

d) Students will login again with the Registration ID, Username and Password to view their personalized page.

e) Students will pay Rupees 1,100.00/- towards ‘Application and Test Fee’ through online payment gateway integrated with the Application Form.

f) The admit card can be downloaded from June 08, 2017 onwards.

Step 2

a) Producing Admit Card is mandatory, failing which candidates shall be debarred from appearing in VET 2017.

b) The VET 2017 will be held in Guwahati, Jorhat and Biswanath Chariali only. Once opted for, no request for changing the Examination Centre shall be entertained in any case.

c) The questions for the entrance examination will be of objective type based on 10+2 level (Science Stream).

d) The entrance examination shall be of two hours duration and shall comprise of three parts, viz., Biology (Botany & Zoology) 60 Marks, Chemistry 45 marks and Physics 45 marks. The question papers shall consist of 150 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each. For every incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the total marks secured.

e) Based on the performance in the Entrance Test, the Merit List(s) shall be published in the University’s website (www.aau.ac.in) on June 26, 2017

f) Mere qualifying in the Entrance Examination shall not automatically make an applicant eligible for admission. The listed candidates in order of merit shall have to appear for counseling and interview for final selection for admission.

Step 3

a) Application form for admission into all other degree programmes of the University will be available in the web from June 1, 2017.

b) Following the same procedures, the applicants can fill/update their information by logging in with their Registration ID, User Name and Password. Repeated updating of information is possible till the applicants finalize their information. Please note that the application cannot be accessed by the candidates once it is FINALIZED.

c) The applicants must update the data online within July 07, 2017 after declaration of 10+2 results.

d) After finalization of the Application Form, the applicants can print the Confirmation Sheet.

e) The candidate has to submit the Confirmation Sheet and self-attested copies of all relevant testimonials at the time of counselling, failure of which will result in cancellation of his/her candidature. The candidate must produce all the relevant testimonials in original during counselling.

Veterinary Entrance Test (VET) Pattern (As per the last year)

The following exam pattern pertains to the scheme notified last year. This year’s exam pattern will be updated soon.

• Duration : 2 Hour

• No. of Question : 150 multiple choice questions of 1 mark each.

• Marking Scheme : Negative marking at the rate of 0.25. i.e. l(one) mark for 4 (four) incorrect answers.

Subject wise allotment of Marks are as follows

➧Biology (Botany & Zoology): 60 marks

➧Chemistry: 45 marks

➧Physics: 45 marks

➧Biology (Zoology): 30 marks

➧Total: 150 marks

Exam Centre: The VET 2017 will be held in Guwahati, Jorhat and Biswanath Chariali only. Once opted for, no request for changing the Examination Centre shall be entertained in any case.
