DC Office Karimganj Recruitment 2024: GIS Assistant Vacancy
The DC Office Karimganj Assam is inviting applications for the position of GIS Assistant on a contractual basis. Interested candidates meeting the eligibility criteria are encouraged to attend the walk-in-interview scheduled for 12th January 2024.

Essential Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/Geology/Mathematics/Geo-informatics/Physics/Computer Science or related field with Certificate/Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing or in Geo-informatics, Or,
- M. Tech/MSc in GIS & Remote Sensing/Geo-informatics
- MCA/MA/MSc in Geography/ Geology/ Mathematics/Environmental Science with Geoinformatics as one of the subjects or Certificate or Diploma in GIS/Remote Sensing or in Geo-informatics.
Desirable Qualification:
- Proficiency in GIS Software (ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper, etc.)
- Familiarity with spatial data formats (e.g., Shape files, GeoJSON, KML) and coordinate systems.
- Knowledge of Geo-spatial analysis, image processing techniques, drone survey, and geospatial data tools.
- Effective communication and team-work skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Prior experience in GIS-related role or internship (preferred but not mandatory).
Job Roles:
- Digitization of geospatial data of Cadastral and Non-cadastral villages.
- Cadastral Map update in Bhunaksha.
- Quality assurance checks on GIS data.
- Preparation of GIS-related reports, presentations, and data visualizations.
- Provide GIS-related technical support.
- Drone photo/HRSI interpretation.
- Utility of survey machinery in land mapping.
Salary:
Rs. 25,000/- per month

Selection Procedure:
A walk-in-interview will be conducted on 12th January 2024, starting from 10 AM onwards at NRC Building, DC Office Campus / Premises, Karimganj, Assam.
