National Law University Meghalaya Vacancy Details

✅Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
☑️Number of Openings: 2
☑️Fellowship: Rs. 42,550.00 per month (inclusive of 15% HRA) till project completion. Upon satisfactory performance, the fellowship may be extended as per University norms for up to five years.

Candidates must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • LLM or LLB or equivalent with a relevant technical background (preferably CS/Data Science or equivalent).
  • MSc (CS/IT or equivalent) or MCA or BTech (CSE/IT/ECE/DS or equivalent) or MTech (CSE/IT/ECE/DS or equivalent) or higher degrees.

Job Responsibilities

1. Legal Data Collection and Organization

  • Collect legal documents from the Apex Courts and relevant laws.
  • Annotate and organize data, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with domain experts for document annotation and summarization.

2. Field Work

  • Regularly visit High Courts to gather existing legal documents.

3. Machine Learning Model Development

  • Develop and train machine learning models for case outcome prediction.
  • Implement AI algorithms for Legal Document Summarization.
  • Fine-tune models to enhance accuracy and reliability.

4. Interface Design

  • Design and develop a user-friendly interface for case outcome prediction and legal document summarization.

5. Prototype Development

  • Assist in the development, testing, and deployment of the Legal Intelligence and Decision Support System (LIDSS) prototype.
