Assam: SEBA HSLC result may be delayed May 2020

HSLC results may be delayed

High-ranking sources in the education department told the Assam Tribune that the HSLC exams could be completed on time this year, but the announcement of results would be delayed due to the lockout. Sources said that the evaluation of the answer scripts was completed before the lockdown, but the processing of the results could not be carried out which could delay the announcement of the results.

Sources said the results of the HSLC exam were announced on May 15 last year and this year, SEBA is optimistic about announcing the results by June 15, but it will depend on the ground situation. “Once the evaluation of the answer scripts is over, a large part of the work has been completed, but it will take about 25 days to process and in addition, some work will be done out of state. Although SEBA is optimistic about announcing the results by June 15, it will depend on the situation in other parts of the country.

While schools are losing important time in the academic calendar due to closure, SEBA has yet to make a decision on reducing the syllabus for next year’s HSLC exams. It may be mentioned here that the government has decided to simplify the lockdown policy from May 4, but no decision has been taken to reopen the educational institutions.

According to the Education Department, if the schools are closed till May 31, the entire 57 days of the educational calendar will be lost. This loss can be made by leaving the summer holidays and other holidays and taking extra classes. However, it may be difficult to complete the course for the next year’s HSLC exams if the schools do not open on June 1.

Sources said it would not be possible for the 11th single state to reduce the syllabus of the 10th class board exams and a decision should be taken in this regard in the case of all the states. “A large number of students from Assam go out to study after the HSLC exams and if Assam alone reduces the syllabus, such students will face serious problems. That is why the SEBA can take this decision only if such advice is given by the Center, ”the source said.

SEBA HSLC Result Date 2020

Sources said that last year, the HSLC examination results were declared on May 15 and this year, the SEBA is hopeful of declaring the results by June 15, but it would depend on the ground situation.

With evaluation of the answer scripts finished, one major part of the job is complete, but it will take around 25 days for processing and moreover, some works are done outside the State. Though the SEBA is hopeful of declaring the results by June 15, it will depend on the situation in other parts of the country,” sources added.
